Who we are

We are a congregation made up of all sorts of people from every kind of background. Many have grown up in and around Greenisland, others have moved here and made Greenisland Presbyterian Church their home. We are a church made up of all ages and stages in life and believe that anyone will feel both welcome and at home worshipping among us. As a church several things are important to us:

Authentic Worship

As a church our primary focus is to worship and glorify God. We do so using worship that reflects our congregation ie. worship for every generation. We use a mixture of hymns and modern worship and sing both the big and the bold alongside the reflective and gentle.

Scripture

The Bible sits at the heart of everything seek to do. We believe that it is the inspired perfect Word of God. Every service and meeting we seek to learn from it and allow it to shape our lives in order that we may grow more into the likeness of Jesus Christ and live in service to him.

Community

We believe that God has always called and worked through communities of believers. As such we believe that being a community of believers in the midst of Greenisland is incredibly important. As a community we seek to reveal the “Kingdom of God” through how we treat, love and serve one another within the church and how we treat, love and serve those outside the church.

Discipleship

Jesus directed his first disciples to be in the business of making other disciples, not simply ‘converts’. We believe that our role in the church is to: Call disciples, Equip disciples and Release disciples to serve Jesus and his church. We believe that the Bible teaches us how to do all three of these.

What we do

The things that we do as a church grow out of who we are as a church. Naturally one of the main focus’ of our week is when we are all together in worship on a Sunday morning where we gather as a Community, to Worship, learn from Scripture and grow as Disciples.

In our Small Groups we gather in groups between 8-15 in each others homes or the church and we get to learn from Scripture while studying God’s word together in an environment where we can discuss our faith and ask questions of each other.

In organisations such as the BB, Youth Fellowship, PW, Click and Switch we meet together in Community to enjoy life and fellowship together but also to learn what the Scriptures mean to us and how we live as Disciples.

Also we host several Community groups and clubs as part of our church. Our Youth Club has around 150 young people coming every week for games, hang out time with Bible talks presented each week, we run a Bowling Club, an Art Club and a Model Railway Club.
